Behavior Expectations – “ROAR” FOR GOOD BEHAVIOR!
Our classroom
behavior plan ties in with the school-wide ROAR
behavior plan.
Respect
Others and yourself
Always
do YOUR best
Responsibility
counts
Each student will
begin the day with his/her clip on the ROAR
chart. Throughout the day, if a child
receives more than two warnings, he/she will be asked to move his/her clip one
time for each redirection (to 1, then 2, then 3). Upon moving to 3, a ROAR letter must be pulled, and the
child will sit away from the group to fill out a Behavior Reflection. Further
redirections will require the child to pull an additional ROAR letter and fill out a Behavior
Reflection each time. *Some
inappropriate behaviors may result in additional negative consequences
(eg. loss of recess time, loss of
privileges, etc.)
When letters are
pulled, a label marked with the amount of and specific letter(s) pulled for
that day will be placed in the planner.
(See behavior descriptions and sample label below.) A parent MUST
sign the planner that evening!
If a student is
making GOOD choices during the day, he/she has the opportunity to earn positive
consequences. By not moving his/her clip
to 3, each child can earn a reward sticker in his/her planner. By earning a full
week of stickers, he/she can choose a treat from the Treasure Box.
Sample:
Your child had to pull a reminder(s) for NOT demonstrating the following
ROAR behavior(s):
____ Respect Others and yourself
____ Always do YOUR best
____ Responsibility counts
*Physical
violence, bullying, verbal abuse, or any other defiant behavior will automatically result in a
meeting with the principal and a conduct referral with possible
suspension.
