We are studying the following topics in each content area:
Reading - Myths, Comprehension; Parts of Speech; Complete Sentences; Possessives; Grade-level Vocabulary; ; Read-to-Self* (100 minutes each week - Be sure to turn in signed Reading Log!)
Math - Fractions; Geometry; Mental Math; On-going review of all skills
Writing - On-Demand; Feature Articles
Social Studies - Economics
*Students are required to earn 35 Reading Counts points during the year. By reading 100 minutes each week, they should earn FAR more than this! Please encourage your child to read Reading Counts books and follow-up by taking the tests at school.
Reading Counts Points:
35 points = Bronze Medal
65 points = Silver Medal
95 points = Gold Medal
